Its been 4 months since flb became the ever growing BOS:, so to celebrate we all went on an outing to the dogs. At first a few people were a little sceptical, well we were going to Swindon…but once the 8th of June arrived the evening out was embraced by all. So at 5.15pm 21 employees of BOS: were loaded into a mini bus and taken to the dog track. A 3 course meal was on offer (Yes that’s right a 3 COURSE MEAL!) the menu consisted of Pate, Prawn Cocktail and some funny filo things for starter, roast beef,BBQ pork or chicken breast for main and whilst reading the menu you could feel the anticipation rising for the first race. Placing bets seem tricky to start with but eventually we all got the hang of it. It was all very sportsmen like at the beginning of the evening, cheering and congratulating our fellow colleagues who had won and consoling the ones who hadn’t. However after a few more glasses of wine (or in my case pints of cider) the sportsmanship had gone and by the end of the evening we were thrilled when people were losing.
When the last race had finished we counted up our pennies and only 1 person (Bernadette) was up by the end of the night.
Gambling is a mugs game but jolly good fun!
